New York Starbright youth talent Runway Competition 2025 – Key Information
Event Highlights:
Theme: OCEAN – contestants are encouraged to incorporate ocean-inspired creativity.
Feature in Starbright Fashion Magazine
On-location photoshoot by the sea!
Exclusive recommendation for select child models to walk the runway at New York Kids Fashion Week (Fall Season)
Age Categories:
Group 1: Under 6 years old
Group 2: 7–9 years old
Group 3: 10–13 years old
Group 4: 14–17 years old
Registration & Competition Timeline:
Registration Period: March 1 – April 18, 2025
Preliminary Round (Video Submission): April 20 – April 22
Semi-Final Round (Video Submission): May 1 – May 3
Finalist Announcement: May 6 – May 8
On-location Photoshoot: May 24 or May 25 (Seaside)
Grand Finals (Live Show): June 1, 2025 (Sunday) at Tangram Main Atrium, Flushing, NY
Video Submission Requirements:
15-sec Introduction (Half-body shot)
15-20 sec Runway Walk (Full-body, ending with a pose; outfit unrestricted)
20-sec Casual Wear Showcase (Full-body shot, required for finalists)
Deadline: Submit videos & a professional or high-quality natural photo (no filters or beauty apps) before April 18.

Competition Structure:
Preliminary Round (April 20-22) – Video A is judged.
Semi-Final Round (May 1-3) – Video B is judged.
Finalists Announced (May 6-8).
Seaside Photoshoot (May 24/25) – Contestants are asked to prepare two ocean-themed outfits, with accessories.
Grand Finals (June 1, Sunday) – Contestants will participate in:
Opening Show: Wearing an event T-shirt (provided), paired with self-styled casual shoes, accessories, denim shorts, or a skirt.
Creative Show: "OCEAN" theme—contestants showcase their unique interpretations.
Evening Gown Showcase: Formal and elegant attire (both Western & Asian styles allowed; floor-length dresses not recommended for safety).
Contestants must change outfits promptly between rounds.
Entry Fees:
Preliminary Round: $30 per contestant
Semi-Finals: $60 per contestant (Video C evaluated for final selection)
Finals: $180 per contestant (Includes seaside photoshoot & feature in Starbright Fashion Magazine)
Awards & Recognition:
Overall Grand Champion (1), Runner-up (1), and Second Runner-up (1) – These winners will serve as brand ambassadors for all Starbright cultural events in the next season.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for each age category (based on the final number of contestants).
Special Awards:
Most Promising Model (20 winners)
Most Photogenic Model (1 winner)
Most Creative Model (2 winners)
Audience Favorite Award (1 winner)
